Multi-Disciplinary Artist

I am a physical performer and theatre maker, poet and singer songwriter whose work dances with stories of more-than-human kinship, separation, humanities relationship with modernity, and the intelligence of the body and land.

Much of my work arises from a sensual, embodied relationship with the animate world and I’m interested in the stories beneath the stories that are surfaced through a mythopoetic lens.

I work with clown, mask, voice, physical theatre and ritual. Forms that move freely between tenderness and irreverence, grief and wonder.

My practice has grown over more than a decade, rooted in the body and shaped by five years of formal training across physical theatre, circus and dance including a BA (Hons) in Physical Theatre at East 15 Acting School (2010–2013), followed by an Apprenticeship of Circus at École de Cirque de Bordeaux (2013–2015).

That foundation has been further deepened by intensive work in the Grotowski lineage with Matej Matejka of Studio Matejka and Anna-Helena McLean of Moon Fool and ACT.

Over the years this work has taken many shapes and forms. I have produced and performed my own solo work, most notably Artemis, staged at Motion Bristol and VAULT Festival and Bones as a direct action performance. Summers in Cornwall with Rogue Theatre and The Eden Project gave me a deep familiarity with site-responsive and nature-embedded work.

Collaborations with Secret Cinema and Shotgun Carousel and appearances at Secret Garden Party and Wilderness Festival honed my craft in creating vivid, immersive worlds for audiences to step inside. Alongside this, I have led creative residencies, retreats and intimate immersive performances, work that sits at the quieter, more relational end of the spectrum, inviting people into carefully held and transformative spaces.

My artistic practice is inseparable from my work as a facilitator, holding space in the territories of grief, ritual, creativity and the more-than-human world. These encounters with what is raw and real deeply inform what I make. At the heart of it all is a commitment to a creative life that is soulful, reciprocal and inspires kinship and wonder.

Currently I am studying Body-Mind Centering and somatics at The School of Experiential Learning in Devon and am a co-founder of Thresh & Bray Theatre, making work that explores entanglement between humans and nature through a relational, and place-based approach.
